Channing Blake Subtil
Author, trans man, companion on the journey.
Real stories, unfiltered life. In my autobiographies, I take you along on my path - through the deepest valleys, inner healing, and back into the light.

My name is Channing Blake Subtil. At 31 years old, I look back on a life path defined by profound upheavals, courage, and deep inner healing. As a proud father of two daughters, I carry responsibilityclose to my heart – a deep bond that serves as a powerful anchor on my journey.

Confronted with severe health challenges and the deep scars of physical and psychological violence, I faced a pivotal choice. In a society that often prefers to look away, remain silent, or simply refuse to believe when faced with trauma and injustice, I chose the unvarnished truth. In my autobiographical works (my trilogy), I break the silence: unsparingly revealing how deeply psychological distress takes root, how trauma is processed, and what the stony yet liberating path to true healing looks like.

Yet healing and self-respect do not begin in adulthood. Driven by this realisation, I bring this ethos to my children’s books and colouring books, as well as my LGBTQIA+ works for children, teenagers, young adults, and adults. Even in my colouring and children’s books, my purpose goes far beyond mere colouring in: each of my works is a tool to build self-confidence from an early age, promote diversity, and show children and adults alike that every person has the absolute right to be exactly who they are – and to live that truth proudly and freely.
Through my books, I give a voice to those affected, break taboos, and encourage people of all ages to liberate themselves from past trauma, refuse to compromise who they are, and follow their own path of inner strength.
More than just writing:

Away from the desk, my heart beats for life in all its facets. As an activist, I'm actively involved in the volunteer teams for CSD Offenbach in Germany and Hämeenlinna Pride in Finland.
When I'm not writing, you can find me dancing or riding a unicycle—because balance, rhythm, and movement accompany me in every situation.
Driven by a desire to break down communication barriers and embrace inclusion even more deeply, I'm currently learning both American Sign Language (ASL) and Finnish Sign Language (FinSL).
